Powder aluminum PAP-1 (silver steel)

Aluminum PAP - 1 powder (powder) of GOST 5494 - 95 represents finely grinded particles of aluminum of a lamellar form.

Assignment

It is applied as multipurpose aluminum pigments (light - reflective, corrosion and protective, heat - resistant, decorative and other paints, enamels, varnishes, putties) and to production of a gas concrete.

Description

Aluminum particles in PAP - 1 powder have the lamellar form and are covered with a thin oxide and fatty film.

PAP - 1 represents the easily smeared product of silver - gray color which is not containing visible to a naked eye foreign impurity.

The bulk density of powder makes about 0,15 - 0,30 ^g/cm3, the content of active aluminum — 85 - 93% .

Average thickness of lobes makes about 0,25 - 0,50 microns, and average linear dimension of 20 - 30 microns.

The bulk density of powder, content of active aluminum and average particle size are not regulated.

Application

• Aluminum PAP - 1 powder is applied as multipurpose aluminum pigments — as a part of light - reflective, corrosion and protective, heat - resistant, decorative and other paints, enamels, varnishes and putties;
• for production of cellular concretes etc.
• Aluminum powder is used as a pigment for paints, enamels, rubber cements forming when drawing a brilliant surface, the blowing agent for cellular concretes.
• Powder aluminum PAP - 1 is a component for production of aluminum gunpowder. Thanks to powder aluminum the structure has rather high combustion heat that does it suitable for equipment of sveto - noise fireworks and thunder flashes.
• Powder aluminum or "Silver steel" — the paint applied as a decorative coating to metallic, wood and other surfaces is characterized by a high prilipayemost to steel. Powder is intended in this case for ensuring safety of steel structures, and other metal elements which are affected by temperature to 450 °C.
• It is used in bulk roofs as a light - reflective covering. For example: at use of sealant on roofs for increase of resistance to an ultraviolet it is recommended to add aluminum powder to a finishing layer. In this case the following structure is applied: the ready weight (a ratio of components 1: 16), solvent, aluminum powder in the ratio 1: 1: 1 on volume.
• In the industry of concrete goods it is used for receiving cellular concretes, aluminum powder is entered in number of 0,1 - 0,2% of cement weight.
• Sometimes instead of aluminum powder apply aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide _(H2O2)which in the alkaline environment emits gaseous oxygen.
